For the belgian Stoffel Vandoorne came to an end today with two difficult seasons at McLaren in the Formula 1.
Vandoorne also managed today not to be in Abu Dhabi in the points to finish the race. Vandoorne, however, a good feeling about his race and is already looking forward to his new challenge in Formula E, the electric counterpart of the Formula 1.
“No points today for the year to end but still it was a pretty good race,” says Vandoorne back to his last F1-race. “I experienced, however, a lot of fun. We knew that for us today would be difficult, certainly without many incidents. We fought very hard and came near several other cars. That was really a fun part of the race. I fought very hard for that cars behind me to keep!”
“I’m happy with what we have achieved with what we had. It’s great to have the season end today, we gave absolutely everything and I’m happy that I finish I have seen. Unfortunately we were not fast enough for points but that would be the case. I am satisfied with how the race has expired, I’ve given everything.”
After the last F1 race for Vandoorne in the coming weeks, a new adventure in racing. In the middle of december appears Vandoorne, after all, at the start of his first race in Formula E.
“It is time to now have something to celebrate and something new to begin. I am convinced that starting tomorrow, my focus shifts to my new challenge. I look forward to it.”
