Balls & Glory is a store concept of the year

Balls & Glory wins the Mercuriusprijs and gives it the title “concept of the year”. The honorable second and third places are for healthcare shop and Elektro Van Assche. The Mercuriusprijs is for 30 years the most prestigious prize in the trade and is presented by Comeos, the federation for trade and services in Belgium. Restaurant and food truck Balls & Glory is playing in on the trend towards the ‘dish of the day 2.0”: the quick bite that is not fast food, but high-quality, authentic and durable. Not only meat-eaters are on their traits; there are also vegetarian and vegan options.

The chairman of the jury and professor of Retail and Trademarking at the Vlerick Business School, Gino Van Ossel is wildly enthusiastic about the winner: “The jury chose this year with Balls & Glory for entrepreneurship in the us, for a store concept that in an intelligent way in omnichannel is to be rolled out, a model that first the domestic and then the world can conquer. After some trial & errors, the model is now ready for the big breakthrough. With the granting of the Mercuriusprijs wants the jury the passion of the entrepreneur and the focus on the product reward.”
