‘Breaking Bad’ will get now also a spin-off in the form of a feature film. Vince Gilligan, the mastermind behind the hugely popular television series, is working on a version for the big screen. That knew entertainmentmagazine Variety to confirm.
The last episode of ‘Breaking Bad’ was broadcast in 2013, but the series is still alive and kicking. Creator Vince Gilligan came up with the spin-off ‘Better Call Saul’, a series that the story of the corrupt lawyer Saul Goodman – a popular character from ‘Breaking Bad’.
Just as the original series, about a financially troubled chemieleraar located in the drugswereld goes, ‘Better Call Saul’ by critics enthusiastically welcomed. Gilligan wants now, apparently, a continued knit to this success story.
Details about the film are not yet published. So could Variety not yet report whether or not it is a prequel or serial. Also, it is not clear whether there is, as in ‘Better Call Saul’ again characters from ‘Breaking Bad’ will be popping up.
According to local newspaper The Albuquerque Journal – Albuquerque is the city in New Mexico in which both series take place – the film the story of “the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom”. The same newspaper wrote that the picture ‘Greenbriar’ name, that title, not officially confirmed yet.
The pictures in Albuquerque would start in February next year, reported the newspaper. A release date is not yet spoken.
