Stijn Coninx 1 and 2 in the Flemish box-office

Never seen before in Belgium: currently there are two movies of the same director (Stijn Coninx) on number 1 and 2 in the top 30 of the moviegoers in Flanders, namely ‘don’t Shoot’ and ‘santa Claus and the Waking Nights’. (*)
The audience chose during the past autumn, flock to movies of their own soil. So ‘don’t Shoot’ has become the milestone of 200,000 visitors obtained for a Platinum Film award (the Gold, Platinum and Diamond Award for respectively 100,000, 200,000 and 400,000 visitors was for Flemish film productions created by the association Les Films du Bord de Mer (Filmfestival Oostende) with the support of the VAF/film fund). This was handed over to major player Jan Decleir, which shapes the grandfather of David From the Stone, the survivor of the last attack on the department store Delhaize in Aalst on 9 november 1985.
Also saint Nicholas and the Wakeful Nights ” turns out to be a shot in the rose and can look back on a very successful autumn break: after only a week and a half in programming, and chose now to 75,000 visitors for the adventures of the one and only real santa Claus.
Saint nicholas and the Waking Nights’ (production Sylvester) was directed by Stijn Coninx on a scenario by Hugo Matthysen, ‘don’t Shoot’ (production Eyeworks Film & TV Drama) was also directed by Stijn Coninx based on a script by himself and Rik D’being, based on the book of David From the Stone and Annemie Bulté. Both films were made with the aid of o.m. the VAF/film fund and Screen Flanders and will be in the cinemas distributed by Kinepolis Film Distribution (KFD).
