Frenkie de Jong: ’we are not a champion’

Frenkie de Jong is critical of a nonchalant Ajax.

“I am very disappointed. I think we really superslecht played,” said the 21-year-old midfielder against FOX Sports. “In the second half we played quite a lot for ourselves. We walked, never to return. We did but what.”

Ajax still has five points less than leader PSV. “And if we play, we are never champion. We have very often that we after a 2-0 head start to sag and we won’t have much to do. But if we are at the end on goal difference no champion, we beat ourselves against the head. I have also, hear. That we need to improve.”

Ajax have a goal difference of plus 26, while PSV 35 goals in the plus condition. There are still 23 rounds to go in the Premier league.
