Vice-president, Andreu Subies of the Spanish football association has been arrested.
Andreu Subies is suspected of corruption from the period that he was president of the Catalan football federation. Subies moved in may to the Spanish federation, where he is vice-president was under new president Luis Rubiales.
The RFEF says in a statement on the website to fully cooperate. The bond stresses that the case has nothing to do with the RFEF, but that the research focuses on the time of Subies in the Catalan federation. This case is part of “Operación Soule’, the large-scale investigation into corruption within the Spanish football world that last year led to the arrest of back Angel Maria Villar. He had since 1988 in charge of the RFEF. Villar (68) also had his senior positions in the FIFA and UEFA lay down.
