From Monday 5 november to Friday 9 november, transmits Radio 2 The classics of the years 80. For the occasion, creeps living legend Gust De Coster is back behind the microphone. De Coster presents from Monday to Thursday between 20 and 22 hours once, Belpop. He gets quite a lot of interesting guests on the floor, The Wolf Banes, Dirk Blanchart and Elisa Waut of Red Zebra, and finds out how they are now faring.
Gust De Coster appeared in the 80’s especially as promoter of the Belgian pop music. He launched the term “Belpop”. He presented on Wednesday afternoon for years, the wildly popular radio show Leave. He was at the time responsible for one of the few Flemish radio programs with alternative music for young people. Anyone with a name that a new album-genre new wave, alternative pop or rock launched came to him to bid. As passed, among others, Arno Hintjens, Walter Grootaers and Marcel Vanthilt along the microon.
In the 80’s was Decoster on Monday night at BRT 2 Omroep Oost-Vlaanderen is also responsible for the popprogramma Radio 2.In the 90’s he was the producer of the program’s Villa Musica, Bistro& co, and Canapé.
The Coster was a couple of times to ‘most capable radiofiguur’ voted by the readers of Humo during the annual pop poll. In the 80s, toured Gust as a deejay in Flanders, T. C. Matic and De Kreuners. He was also on the turntables of the disco Le Beau Bruxell. Now he turns so four nights a week back for a nostalgic portion of Belpop on Radio 2.
