Oliver Zelenika

The Croat trained in the past two weeks on trial with the selection of trainer Jack de Gier. Zelenika (25) signed on Monday a contract until the end of the season, with an option on another year.

NEC was in need of an extra keeper because Gino Coutinho early in the season, his contract was forced to concede and Norbert Alblas at the beginning of this month a severe knee injury suffered. The Vulture had, therefore, only Marco van Duin and the young Job Schuurman. The Nijmegen-based club tested the past few weeks, among others, Leonard Nienhuis and Osman Hadzikic. Zelenika, who in 2014 if reservekeeper to the world cup selection of Croatia belonged to, turned out to be the solution for the keepersprobleem.

The Croatian played for Dinamo Zagreb and Lechia Gdansk. Last summer he left at that Polish club.
