BAGHDAD – The parliament in Iraq, the new prime minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi ingezworen. In his cabinet is going to Fuad Hussein the function of the minister of Finance to fulfill. The 69-year-old candidate of the Kurdish Democratic Party lived for many years in the Netherlands.
Hussein fled in the seventies, through Tehran, to the Netherlands and returned to Iraq after the fall of dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003. Except that he is more fluent in English, he is also married to a Dutch. Hussein is since 2005 the right of Masoud Barzani, one of the most powerful men in the Kurdish-Iraqi region and there until 2017 president.
The office of Abdul-Mahdi had a cabinet of 22 ministers nominated. There are fourteen ingezworen. The parliamentarians from the opposition bloc of Moqtada al-Sadr left, however, the session before a vote could be over the remaining eight ministers.
