Nineteen people indicted in corruptiezaak Belgian football

The federal public prosecutor’s office in Belgium has, in the vast voetbalschandaal in their own country now nineteen persons indicted. Nine suspects have been detained by the investigating judge and are stuck. Ten people have been indicted and then released, including five on terms and conditions.
The federal public prosecutor’s office made the official figures are known after a long night in the courthouse in Tongeren, where the coming and going of suspects, and lawyers. In total, 29 persons by the federal police answered.
The nine persons who are in custody, suspected of various crimes. To the arrested persons include football agent Dejan Veljkovic, Olivier Somers (principal shareholder KV Mechelen) and Thierry Steemans (financial director KV Mechelen). They are suspected of money laundering, private corruption and involvement in a criminal organisation.
