The European Film Academy has “Girl” by Lukas Dhondt selected among the six nominees for the European Discovery Award – Prix FIPRESCI. That prize is an award for the best European feature film debut, and is every year at the European Film Awards are presented by the International Federation of film critics (FIPRESCI). That made the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAS) announced today.

The jury for the European Discovery Award this year consisted of Katriel Schory, Mihai Chirilov, Azize Tan, Isabelle Danel, Robbie Eksiel and Michael Pattison. The more than 3,500 members of the European Film Award choose the final winner. The award ceremony will take place on Saturday 15 december in the Spanish Seville.
“Girl” is also on the shortlist of 49 feature films for the main prize at the European Film Awards for best feature film. On 10 november is conscience or Dhonts debut also in the nominees will be.
