The American filmmaker Audrey Wells is at the age of 58 died after a long battle against cancer. That has her management agency announced. Wells died Thursday, a day before the premiere of “The Hate You Give”, for which she wrote the script.
Wells was particularly well known as a screenwriter and director of the liefdesfilm “Under The Tuscan Sun” from 2003, a film adaptation of the memoir American author Frances Mayes. As a screenwriter made Wells films about strong women, such as “The Truth About Cats & Dogs” (1996) and “Shall We Dance? “(2004). In “The Hate You Give” she describes the fate of a black teenage girl who’s best friend is killed by the police.
