Rock Werchter 2019 has its first headliner: the British band The Cure will be on Friday, June 28 at the meadow.
The British band The Cure at the party in 2019. It is forty years ago that the British band debuted with the album ‘Three Imaginary Boys’. Their first show they played a year earlier.
Last July fourth The Cure, which is extensive in Hyde Park in London. They played there for about 65,000 fans and fired a setlist full of hits on them . ‘Pictures of You’, ‘Love’, ‘Inbetween Days, ‘Just Like Heaven’, ‘A Forest’, ‘Lullaby’, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ and more passed in review.
The Cure comes from Crawley in the English Sussex. In 1978, they played their first show. Now they have more than 1,500 concerts. And 13 studio albums. The Cure had 13 members in 40 years. In 2018 the group consists of: Robert Smith (voice & guitars) / Simon Gallup (bass) / Jason Cooper (drums) / Roger O’donnell (keyboards) / Reeves Gabrels (guitars).
The Cure is one of the cell groups of Rock Werchter. Their first appearance dates back to 1981, their last of 2012.
Rock Werchter 2019 will take place from Thursday 27 June until Sunday 30 June in the Festivalpark in Werchter. The ticket sales start on Friday 26 October.
