Cyclist Jolien D’hoore get in 2019 from its current Australian team Mitchelton-Scott to the Dutch Boels-Dolmans. That Wednesday afternoon officially announced at a press conference in Antwerp.
D’hoore is thus rightly in the team of the brand new world champion Anna van der Breggen. She draws for two years.
D’hoore told Wednesday that they the “quite an honor” to be “a team that already years at the top state” can join. “There was nothing wrong in Mitchelton-Scott, but if you get an offer from a team like Boels-Dolmans, you should not doubt,” she says. “I will mainly be played as a sprinter, and the team will try to help in more difficult courses.”
The competition at Boels-Dolmans is not min, but D’hoore, see there no hesitation. “In this team, everyone works for each other and give each other a what,” she states. “The team is going to me also the freedom to be the way to continue to combine the job with an eye on my big goal, the madison in Tokyo 2020.”
Pierre Boels, CEO of sponsor Boels Rental, showed himself in the clouds with the new acquisition. “I’ve been living 25 years in Belgium, and no country in the world gives more to cycling,” he says. “We already have a lot of toprensters, but we had to just watch or we also have the best Belgian cyclist could pull in and that is now successful. The next dream is that there is finally a Belgian in the Tour of Flanders wins.”
Sports director Danny Stam all in 2014 tried to have D’hoore within fishing and says to be very satisfied with her arrival. “The combination road-course excites me also very much and seems to me to do good,” he says.
