Zdenek Stybar (Quick-Step) seemed to be in the final stage on the way to the victory in Binche, but was within the final kilometre, once again swallowed up by the front of the peloton. That was the signal for Van Poppel to full. The inclined aankomststrook in Binche, no one could him catch up.

It is for the 25-year-old Van Poppel, his third seizoenszege after previous victories in Halle-Ingooigem – also a round of the Napoleon Games Cup – and the first stage in the Tour of Valencia.
