The Haunting of Hill House is the new flagship of streaming service Netflix, which until now no horrorseries in the portfolio. The series tells about a family who grows up in a seemingly normal house that a lot of dark secrets turns out to inns. Huisman plays one of the five children, the writer has become and a whole oeuvre of griezelboeken on the house has written.
“The series builds cleverly and slowly a story about repressed trauma and discomfort”, praises the important entertainmentblad Variety. “It is an effective horrorfeest that at its best is when there is more attempt than the viewer to be scared.” More journalists prices the fact that the ten-part series is not for the easygoing bloody just melts the listener. “The series is stuck not because of all the familiar elements that are well executed, but much more to the things in which the series dares to deviate from the beaten paths”, the website The Verge.
The Haunting of Hill House is from 12 October to see it on Netflix. It is not the first major American series where Huisman is seen; previously he had a regular role in Treme, Orphan Black and Game of Thrones.
