French Interior minister offers resignation, but the president refuses

Gérard Collomb, the French minister of the Interior, has Monday his resignation presented to the president and Emmanuel Macron, but that has refused.

“Because of the attacks against the minister after he announced that he is candidate for the mandate in Lyon, has the president’s confidence in him reaffirmed, and asked him to continue his mission for a safer France, confirms the Elysée.

Middle of last month announced Collomb that the government next year wants to leave to take part in the local elections in Lyon. Since then, says the call for immediate dismissal ever louder.

Less than a month ago, stepped the minister of the Environment, Nicolas Hulot, all from the French government. Laura Flesselles took a moment later, ‘for personal reasons’ to resign as minister of Sport.
