Stoffel Vandoorne drops one place on the starting grid in the GP of Russia

Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) will start Sunday afternoon on the eighth instead of the seventh row in the Grand prix of Russia, the sixteenth round of the world CHAMPIONSHIP Formula 1, this is due to the change of the gearbox. He sees the Canadian Lance Stroll (Williams) on him, jump up to the fourteenth spot on the grid.

Vandoorne was Saturday as the nineteenth turned off in the first kwalificatiedeel (Q1), only Stroll was slower. Gridstraffen for team mate Fernando Alonso, the Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen, the Toro Rosso’s of Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley did the West-Flemish first five places up the grid.

By the improper replacement of his gearbox, Vandoorne normally, however, five places achteruitgezet, but as the riders behind him – with the exception of Stroll – more heavily punished, he will only have one place to return. Therefore start our compatriot next to Alonso in the eighth row.
