Coach Sarina Wiegman of the Oranjevrouwen has Monday at the FIFA gala in London in addition to the award for Coach of the Year in women’s football to be played. The former VVV-Venlo attacker, Lennart Thy was given the Fair Play Award, and Mohamed Salah has won the Puskas Award.
The 48-year-old Wiegman was one of the three nominees. The prestigious award went to the Frenchman Reynald Pedros, who is with the women of Olympique Lyon champion and the Champions League won. Also the Japanese coach Asako Takakura was on the shortlist.
