Grönloh celebrated its golden jubilee in 2009 with many friendly colleagues like Willeke Alberti, Ria Valk, Sandra Reemer and Ronnie October. In a tour de chant took the singer to the audience on a journey through her career. In addition to Indian wiegenliedjes came to hits over as Burning sand, Surabaya, and Da do ron ron.
The singer gained fame in 1959 at the age of 17 to participate in the talent show Cabaret of strangers. In 1960 she published her debut single, Asmara. With Burning sand, that in 1962 appeared, she broke down definitively. The song came out of nowhere on the first place of the charts, and stood more than a half year high in the Dutch charts. In a short time grew the singer to English ‘ very first teenage idol.
