Nothing to Declare.
Emily, produced by studio Halal and the NTR, tells the story of a florist who looks back on her life. The last time that a Dutch short animation film a nomination in the awards, it was three years ago. When it hit the movie Single Life by Job, Joris and Marieke to the last five candidates.
Nothing to Declare is about three refugees in the cargo hold of a truck, hopefully on the road to a new future in Europe. During their bizarre journey, they share the stories, hopes, and dreams. The film, produced by Bind, is inspired by the life stories of actors Khales Warrak, Rama Taher and Yazan Al-Hakim. De Kruijf studied in 2015 at the Academy.
Earlier was already announced that the feature film Banker of the Resistance of Joram Lürsen, the Netherlands represents in the category best non-English film. The nominations will be at the end of January published; the academy awards on 24 February.
