Carlos Queiroz will stay on as coach of the Iranian national team. In may, it announced that the Portuguese is that he is after the world cup in Russia would be a blow, but Tuesday, he is sitting just on the sofa at Iran as the team in Tashkent against Uzbekistan.

A contract is not there yet. “There is at present a herenakkoord. It was not yet possible for all of the details in the new agreement to work out,” said the 65-year-old Queiroz Monday at a press conference.

The former trainer of, among others, Real Madrid is already 7.5-year coach of Iran. He led the team to the world cup of 2014 in Brazil and 2018 in Russia.
