Guus Hiddink will return as coach. The 71-year-old former trainer of, among others, PSV, Real Madrid and Orange confirmed against the Dutch Veronica Inside that he is coach of the Chinese olympic team. “The goal is qualification for the Olympic Games of 2020 in Tokyo,” says Hiddink.
According to Hiddink, he started to work as a manager to the English model. “I was nearing retirement, but this is a fine job.” China took in 2008 in Beijing for the last time with a football team part of the Olympics.
In the season 2015-2016 was Hiddink for the last time as interim coach of Chelsea. Before that, he was, for the second time, the coach of the Netherlands. In that capacity, he was after disappointing results early sent away.
In 1998, piloted Hiddink Orange at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in France to the semi-finals. He made furore by the same result with South Korea to achieve at the world cup of 2002. Also won Hiddink, inter alia, the Europa Cup 1 with PSV (1988), and the world Cup with Real Madrid (1998).
