Mortal Engines was filmed by Peter Jackson and a part of the team that he Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit made. Peter and his wife Fran Walsh wrote the script for the film, but the director left the New Zealander this time over to Christian Rivers, with whom he spent 25 years working.
“A dream comes true to be with Christian, to work together and to be welcomed into the WingNut Films-family of Peter”, writes a little less conversation on social media. “It was amazing to be allowed to travel to their film studio in New Zealand. I have a feeling that I have for the past six months, I learned more about making movies than others do in a lifetime. Work for Mortal Engines has me pushed to the extreme.”
Mortal Engines on 14 december in the cinemas. The story of Mortal Engines is set some thousand years in the future. It consists of four books, Peter and the film studio Universal have plans that all the four to film them.
He is especially known for his musical contributions for Mad Max: Fury Road and Deadpool, but also contributed to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
