Protests in Uganda after stop pop star Bobi Wine

KAMPALA – In Uganda on Friday protests erupted after parliamentarian and pop star Bobi Wine was stopped at the airport. Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi says, and another oppositielid wanted to abroad for medical treatment. They would be tortured when they are in detention sat.

The protesters went Friday to the streets in the capital, Kampala. They crossed, according to witnesses, tyres on fire and blocked roads.

Wine has evolved into an outspoken critic of president Yoweri Museveni since 1986 in power. The authorities arrested the oppositielid and other parliamentarians earlier this month after stones were thrown at a presidential convoy.
