BERLIN – The European Commission wants to abandon the system of summer and winter time. This Friday will be going to the commission to make a proposal to the twice-yearly clock transitions to abolish, announced chairman Jean-Claude Juncker in an interview with the German tv station ZDF.
“The people want it, we do it,” said Juncker. A survey of the commission amongst Europeans showed earlier this week that a large majority of the entire year by the same time. That would according to the respondents, the daylight saving time.
If the commission, the plan continues, it is then sent to the EU member states and the European Parliament for them to decide.
