Where you go along the international festivalwegen, everywhere you come across ‘Girl’, the feature film debut of Lukas Dhont. Also on the important Telluride Film Festival, which starts today, will be the award winning Flemish film to be shown, as appears from the traditional to the eleventh hour to a published program of the filmfeest in Telluride, Colorado.
The offer in Telluride, edition of 45, partly together with that of the same running festival of Venice, with that of Toronto (TIFF), that next week is going to start.
The selection includes, however, also some world premieres, including Robert Redfords farewell to the cinema (‘The Old Man and the Gun’) and the new film from Jason Reitman (“The Front Runner”, about the political rise and fall of the Democratic presidential candidate in 1988 – Gary Hart).
Furthermore, it is adorned with Dhonts name proudly between that of directors such as Werner Herzog (‘Meeting Gorbachev’), Yorgos Lanthimos (‘The Favorite’), the now 79-year-old Peter Bogdanovich (‘The Great Buster’), Golden Palmwinnaar Hirokazu Kore-eda (‘Shoplifters’), Alfonso Cuaron (‘Roma’), Ralph Fiennes (‘The White Crow’), and even Orson Welles, who thirty years after his death the film ‘The Other side of the Wind’ in American premiere.
The TFF is increasing along with the weekend of Labor Day. This year, this means that the festival will start on 31 August and ends on 3 september.
