The famous London’s West End from next month, an eye-catching attraction to offer. A new cocktail bar, quite in the style of David Bowie, opens the doors. Reports that the British entertainmentmagazine NME today.
The establishment will ‘Ziggy’s’ are called. That is a reference to Ziggy Stardust, the alter ego in 2016 deceased musician during his career and trading. The cocktail bar will open on 20 september and is located in the pricey Hotel Café Royal, just a stone’s throw from Piccadilly Circus.
The location is not chosen randomly: Bowie organized in 1973, a symbolic ‘Last Supper’ to say goodbye to his famous alter ego. Among others, Lou Reed, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney and Barbra Streisand were that night a guest in the Hotel Café Royal. The new bar will be on the walls, pictures hang from the legendary party. There will also be a special Bowie-jukebox.
The drinks that customers in Ziggy’s can order, are inspired by different songs from the iconic rock musician. The owners took especially the mustard from the album ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars’ (1972). The cocktail ‘Tigers on Vaseline’, described as “a modern twist on the piña colada”, derives its name from the lyrics of “Hang On To Yourself’. ‘Darkness and Disgrace’ is a cross between an espresso martini with a rum flip and gets its name from the ‘Lady Stardust’.
