Australian Damon Herriman plays cult leader Charles Manson in new Tarantino film

With Damon Herriman adds Quentin Tarantino is a relatively unknown name to the star cast of his latest film ‘Once upon a time in Hollywood’. The 48-year-old Australian broke through with his role in the Australian tv series ‘The Sullivans’ and had various supporting roles in films like ‘The Lone Ranger’ and ‘J. Edgar’. Herriman will play the role of cult leader Charles Manson.

Charles Manson was the cult leader of the so-called ‘Manson Family’, and became notorious because of the instigation of the murder of actress Sharon Tate, the eight months pregnant wife of director Roman Pola¿ski, and four other people present in the house of Tate. He was in 1971 and sentenced to a lifelong imprisonment because of murder and aanstichting to do so and died last year at age 83. He was never more free.

The cast of ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ looks no more impressive, with names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Burt Reynolds, Al Pacino, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth and Damian Lewis. Also, Lena Dunham, and Maya Hawke, the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, are part of the sterrenensemble.

The film tells the story of the ‘hippie ‘ Hollywood’ of 1969 against the backdrop of the horrific Manson murders. The two main characters, played by DiCaprio, and Pitt, a former steracteur from a westernserie and his trusty sword. The duo has it difficult to meet the barge to come in a Hollywood that they no longer recognize. One of them, however, has a very famous neighbour: Sharon Tate…

Quentin Tarantino wrote, produces and directs the film itself. If everything goes according to plan, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ worldwide on 9 August 2019, exactly 50 years after the Manson murders. The production of the film would be in the middle of this year.
