The outing of VTM-journalist Bo – formerly Baldwin – boudewijn Van Spilbeeck as transgender in January of last year. was frontpaginanieuws at home and abroad. Bo boudewijn Van Spilbeeck: ‘After my outing I received countless heart-warming reactions and a lot of support from family, friends and colleagues. But I was also flooded with questions and hulpkreten of people who do not feel at home in their own body. Because I realized that I am a role model, I wanted to help them. But I am not a therapist. I can only have my own experiences to share. My story in a book down to write, I can not only do better, but I hope also a support for people who with similar feelings of struggle and to contribute to a better acceptance of transgender people in our society.’
