‘True detective’ will get in January is still a sequel

HBO gave yesterday the trailer free of the third season of ‘True detective’. That comes in January on the screen and defies all televisiewetten.

The trailer that the American pay-tv channels HBO yesterday on the public solved, shows actor Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, House of cards) in two forms: the very young and very old. That suggests that this third season, as the first, between two points of time jumps. Just like in the first season, there seems to be a supernatural element in there. Mahershala Ali plays inspector Wayne Hays. Who is investigating the kidnapping of a child seems to be. If we have to rely on the trailer, it leans also the atmosphere back in to the first season. The story unfolds in the Ozarks, the secluded American region, where also the Netflixreeks Ozarks is set.

That there is a third season of True detective is created, is remarkable. The first season was in 2014, a huge success, but the second season flopped. The former HBO boss Michael Lombardo took the blame for that failure on himself. The inexperienced screenwriter Nic Pizzolatto revealed after the first season of a gifted man and Lombardo had him rushed to a quick follow-up to knit.

“We must learn to be writers time to award,” said Lombardo. ‘Because every story has its natural peace and quiet can find it.” Every other string would be after such a flop repealed, but Pizzolatto got the chance to have a season on his own to work out. A series by one screenwriter being written, is highly unusual in Hollywood. Pizzolatto has now also a part of the direction taken.

On what day in January True detective returns, is still unclear. Perhaps the series here via Play More of Telenet. Also, Stephen Dorff (Somewhere, Immortals) and Carmen Ejogo (Selma, Fantastic beasts and Where to find them) do.
