Foo Fighters give ‘pop-upconcert’ on parking

The “Holy Shits” gifts Sunday afternoon a verrassingsconcert of an hour at the Hollywood Palladium parking lot. In itself nothing special, were it not that the Holy Shits, none other than the Foo Fighters were. The stunt served to promote their appearance at the Cal Jam Festival, which takes place in October in San Bernardino.

The Foo Fighters were playing little-known songs from their broad oeuvre. Frontman Dave Grohl said in the middle of the action that they are songs that are usually never discussed during their concerts. So they played ‘Gimmie Stitches” just for the second time in their career live.

The audience was divided: one half, real Foo Fighters fans, was likkebaardend sing along to, while the other half is cold remained with the unknown material. The delirium only came at the very end, when bisnummer and biggest hit ‘Everlong’ echoed.

The fans were actually treated to a surprise, because Queen drummer Roger Taylor was involved in the conspiracy. He sat at the drums during ‘Under Pressure’.
