HARARE – Emmerson Mnangagwa is sworn in as president of Zimbabwe. He explained the oath of office during a ceremony in a stadium in Harare.
The swearing had actually previously need to take place, but it was delayed because of wrangling over the election results. The opposition was made to the constitutional court stepped in with complaints about tampering. That highest court ruled Friday that has not been proven that Mnangagwa fraudulent elections in July has won.
Mnangagwa at the presidential election the previous month, slightly more than 50 percent of the votes. Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa insists that he is actually the winner. He gave Saturday that his legal options have been exhausted. Chamisa argued that the leadership of his party, later held follow-up steps to discuss.
