Timothy Dupont has Sunday in the 93rd edition of the Scale Sels (1.1), with start and arrival after 184 kilometres in Merksem, won. He finished in a bunch sprint ahead of his teammate Alfdan The Decker. Christophe Noppe was third. It was the first victory of the season for the 30-year-old Dupont.
The trail for this 93rd edition was completely redesigned. No loop through the Polders and the port of Antwerp, nor passages on unpaved dirt roads and kasseizones. Up to 14 local circuits of each 13 miles long on and around the Bredabaan of Merksem.
It was Edward Planckaert, Gianni Vermeersch and the Norwegian cabin belonging to sondre Enger, who in the second round as the peloton went away. When everything integrated put a group of sixteen riders on a walk. Their attempt was, through the actions of the Veranda’s Willems-Crelan, no long life ahead. With 51 kilometres to go, led to Benjamin Declercq, and Guillaume Van Keirsbulck, Julien Mortier, Pawel Bernas, Daniel Turek and Rob Ruijgh.
When the escapees were caught, on something more than one round from the end, pulled Declercq again significantly. He was, however, at 12 kilometers from the finish, which also belongs to the order called. The signal for Ylber Sefa to a failure to convert. The Albanian champion saved it as it was in the last 750 metres caught. In the ensuing bunch sprint put Timothy Dupont things. He follows the Dutchman Taco van der Hoorn as eindlaureaat of the Scale Mixtures.
