Mark David Chapman, the killer of Beatleslid John Lennon, remains two years longer in prison. The competent authorities in the American state of New York have a request for parole again rejected.

The release of the now 63-year-old Chapman would be “incompatible with the welfare and security of society”, reads the motivation of a special committee of specialists. It was already the tenth time that Chapman, a request was submitted to conditionally be released.

John Lennon was in december 1980 (shot to death for his apartment in New York. He was hardly 40 years old. Chapman was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 20 years to life. At the earliest in August 2020, he can re-submit a request for early release.
