Tourists Bali out of bed vibrated

DENPASAR – The Indonesian island of Bali was rocked by an earthquake with a strength of 5.2. Dutch tourists were ’shaken up’ by earthquake at 6.48 am (local time) in the morning.

The epicentre was about 100 km south of Denpasar. The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers.

“We are equal to the outside run and are okay, but there are now larger cracks in my walls come”, says Dutchman Marcel Beers, who lives in Bali. “We now have several earthquakes a day, it keeps going.”

Bali-holiday-maker Dylan Suitela speaks of a chaos. “I ran outside because there is an alarm hard went off. Everyone ran en masse down and waited scared for the hotel.” Corne Melissen was with his family, “shaking awake.” “No visible damage. Everything apparently normal.”

Lombok

A series of heavy earthquakes has lot of damage on the neighboring island of Lombok.

Heavy and lighter earthquakes alternating with one another, since 29 July. The quakes are also felt in Bali. Sunday was Lombok again struck by several severe earthquakes. Ten people were killed. An earthquake with a strength of 6.9 on 5 August, already more than four hundred people. Hundreds of thousands of people are now homeless. A lot of people sleep in tents.
