Richie Porte to leave BMC, after three years to the coming season for Pull-Segafredo, so made the American WorldTour formation Thursday known. The 33-year-old Australian signed a two year contract.
There were already since last month, rumors that the Porte BMC would leave for Pull-Segafredo. His current employer did it until the end of July, about to have a new sponsor for the upcoming season to find and then it was the interest of Pull-Segafredo all concrete. Eventually decided to the Porte, therefore, not to be in the new story steps of CCC, such as his current team as of next season, life will go on. The procontinentale cycling team CCC Sprandri Polkowice will then have the license of BMC to take over.
With Porte in the ranks hopes to Pull-Segafredo a throw to do to the gc in the grand tours, especially the Tour de France next year. Porte has already had some tours on his hall of fame, and was this year’s best in the Tour of Switzerland, but in the Tour, Giro and Vuelta, he could have never been on the podium finish. In the last two editions of the Tour, he had time to give up after heavy falls.
“Finally, I can confirm that I have next year to Pull-Segafredo go”, let the Porte know. “I had a fantastic time at BMC, but I felt that the time had come for a new challenge. The Tour remains an important goal for me, but in addition, I will also focus on a lot of shorter rounds. I look forward to this new chapter in my career.”
