Katusha gives Englishman Harry Tanfield chance in the WorldTour

The English rider Harry Tanfield will debut next season in the WorldTour for Team Katusha Alpecin. He signed with the Swiss formation a contract for two seasons, so hit Thursday known.

Tanfield is particularly strong in one day races and time trials. So he picked up the end of June, silver in the British championships against the clock after a tour winner Geraint Thomas. This year, he was second in the time trial at the Commonwealth Games, and he won the openingsetappe in the Tour of Yorkshire.

The 23-year-old Englishman leaves at the end of the season the continental Canyon Eisberg. “The WorldTour is always my ultimate ambition,” said Tanfield. “I now have a foot in the door and get two years to prove myself. I don’t have the pretention to think that I am. The hard work starts now and the challenge for me is to prove that I progression can make as a rider.”
