DENPASAR – The Indonesian island of Bali was rocked by an earthquake with a strength of 5.2. Dutch tourists were ’shaken up’ by earthquake at 6.48 am (local time) in the morning.

Marcel Beers: “I am now at the beach, Pandawa Beach, Nusa Dua, Bali. The beach is deserted because everyone is afraid of a tsunami. So they are nice and quiet. The sea for me is remarkably quiet, but makes much more noise. It remains a delicious but mysterious country Indonesia.”

The epicentre was about 100 km south of Denpasar. The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers.

“We are equal to the outside run and are okay, but there are now larger cracks in my walls come”, says Dutchman Marcel Beers, who lives in Bali. “We now have multiple earthquakes each day, but not on. Since July 29, remains in the earth, but shake, but this time the epicenter is not in the north of Lombok, but in the south of Bali.”

Bali-holiday-maker Dylan Suitela speaks of a chaos. “I ran outside because there is an alarm hard went off. Everyone ran en masse down and waited scared for the hotel.” Suitela wants to go back to the Netherlands. “A lot of people, also the people who live here, are very afraid.”

Corne Melissen was with his family, “shaking awake.” “No visible damage. Everything apparently normal.”

Dylan Suitela: “Here we sit, in pajamas, to wait until the vibrations are over and the alarm stops. I only had underwear on but I got a kind of bathrobe.”
