That the American comedian Jon Stewart has a big heart for animals was already known. Monday morning had commuters in New York witnessed a rescue operation of the former ‘The Daily Show’-presenter. Two grazing goats on a line in the New York city borough of Brooklyn, were made by Stewart and his wife saved from a sure death, reports BBC.
The metrobeheerder had the police and the animal protection society called for the two grazers to catch. With the help of Stewart and his wife Tracey, they were in a trailer piloted and transported to a nearby animal shelter. It is unclear how the goats on the tracks have ended, though there are a number of slaughterhouses located close to the metro, where in the past a number of animals have escaped. Stewart is known as a dierenrechtenactivist. He and his wife opened in 2015, a shelter for neglected animals. They support also a shelter in New York where stray geese find shelter, and adopted previously abused horse, and a bull that escaped from the slaughterhouse.
