Ambitious LottoNL-Jumbo is reaping Laurens De Plus road at Quick Step: “This is an ideal team for me”

Laurens De Plus leave at the end of the season, Quick Step Floors. The 22-year-old man from East-flanders signed a contract for two seasons with the Dutch LottoNL-Jumbo, as confirmed by that team Wednesday.

“I think this is an ideal team for me,” says The Plus on the website of his future employer. “Team LottoNL-Jumbo has proven to work well with young people and to develop. It gave moral (sic) how I see the team in the Tour saw drive. For me this is a unique opportunity for me to further develop and me later, hopefully to show into large rounds. Also the good team atmosphere at Team LottoNL-Jumbo I think it is very important.”

The Plus is now in his third season with Quick Step. He will start this weekend for the first time in the Vuelta. Last year he was on his debut in the Giro 24th.

According to Merijn Zeeman, sports director of LottoNL-Jumbo, connect the ambition of The Plus in well with the development that the team is going through. “Through the long-term sponsorverbintenis with Jumbo we are able to get to the long-term view. The Plus in 2019 for the Jumbo team mate Maarten Wynants and Floris De Tier. In 2020 also comes Wout van Aert to the team.
