MOSCOW – The foreign and Defence ministers of Russia and the Central African Republic (CAR) have concluded an agreement for military cooperation. That opens according to Russian media the way for the Russians to the training of the CAR armed forces to intensify.
The enhanced connectedness of the Kremlin with the CAR and the growing interest in Africa came last month in the spotlight by the killing of three Russian journalists. They did there research on the presence of Russian mercenaries.
Russia has earlier this year light weapons shipped to the Central African Republic, and says that there are 175 military and civilian instructors are stationed for training. The collaboration is accelerated by the Tuesday agreement, signed.
