MEXICO CITY – Mexican authorities the death of 113 rare sea turtles to investigate. The animals were stranded on a piece of protected nature reserve in Puerto Arista.
Between 24 July and 13 August, there are further 102 dead dwergschildpadden washed up on a stretch of coastline of 30 kilometers long.
Experts suggest that the animals died due to suffocation, fish-hooks, or harmful algae. The authorities are going to test the water, and the autopsy should reveal what the possible causes of death.
