Eupen has strengthened with the Iranian international Morteza Pouraliganji. The 26-year-old central defender signed to the Kehrweg a contract for two seasons, with option for a third year, so made the club Thursday night known.
Pouraliganji is a dertigvoudig international who represented his country at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in Russia. There he came three times in action in the group matches against Morocco, Spain (Diego Costa), and Portugal (with Cristiano Ronaldo).
The defender left his Iranian club Naft Novin in February 2015 to the Chinese Tianjin Teda (2015-2016) to get started. In the past two years he was under contract with the Qatari Al Sadd (2016-2018). “Playing for a club in Europe had always been my goal and a dream,” he told in a first reaction. “So I look forward to this new challenge.”
With zero points from three matches has Eupen currently the red lantern in the hands of the Jupiler Pro League. Sunday they take on the fourth match day against AA Gent.
