Sunday (19 August), the 23rd edition of the EuroEyes Cyclassics Hamburg (WorldTour). Quick-Step Floors with Italian cut out for sprinter Elia Viviani, the defending champion in the ranks. He won in 2017 in the shirt of Sky for Démare and Groenewegen. Iljo Keisse makes for the Belgian representation.
“Hamburg is one of the most important one day races of the second part of the season. The circulation is not easy but we should re-format it for a bunch sprint, as in recent years, and that was the case,” predicts sport director Wilfried Peeters. “We come with a strong team at the start, with Elia Viviani, winner of last year, as a spearhead. He has experienced riders around him, such as Iljo, who is back at is after two months of injuries. As always, we will try the race colors and, if necessary, to check.”
In addition to Viviani and Keisse’s team, from the Danes Kasper Asgren and Michael Morkov, the Frenchman Rémi Cavagna, and the Italians Davide Martinelli and Fabio Sabatini.
