TRIVANDRUM – The death toll due to the flooding in the Indian state of Kerala has risen to at least 73. Also have about 85,000 people forced to leave their homes, reports the BBC.
Ongoing monsoon rains in the southern state led to severe flooding. The authorities have the busy international airport of Cochin due to the flooding closed.
Also in other places in the state, traffic is hindered by the flood. The newspaper Hindustan Times reported that bridges are washed away. Trains may take the precaution of not harder than driving 30 miles per hour. The national authorities have promised to lend their support.
