Zico Waeytens drive next season for the French Cofidis. Waeytens was last season one of the reliable servants of Wout van Aert in Veranda’s Willems – Crelan.

The exodus at Veranda’s Willems – Crelan continues. After Tim Merlier already indicated to leave the team, has now also Zico Waeytens the step to the exit. The 26-year old West-Flemish has signed a contract that will take him next season on the French Cofidis binds. He will be used primarily in the train of spurters Laporte and Bouhanni, a role that Waeytens in the past have been recorded at Giant and Sunweb in the service of John Degenkolb and Michael Matthews.

In the meantime, it remains fairly calm around the team of Nick Nuyens. Now it is clear that Veranda’s Willems drops out, Nuyens searching for new partners. A merger with the Irish AquaBlue was already officially announced, but because of Nuyens himself denied. Wout van Aert is already under contract for next season and also Sean De Bie would a new contract have signed, but that news was not confirmed yet.
