Italian plunges from bridge and survives fall: “It was apocalyptic’

GENOA – Davide Capello from the Italian city of Savona rode over the bridge in Genoa Tuesday morning collapsed. The road disappeared before his nose into the abyss. He could not brake and crashed no less than eighty meters down.

“I don’t know what saved me. But I’m okay,” he says, from the ambulance to the newspaper La Stampa. Capello, who was quickly found by the emergency services, is very happy that he has survived: “It was terrifying, apocalyptic, like in a movie. I have a lot of luck, really a miracle.”

He understands not how such a disaster can happen at one of the busiest roads in Italy. “It is almost unthinkable. Thank god I can still tell the tale.”
