Japanese filmkijkers cooling off in a special pop-up cinema

Japan is groaning still under the heat, with temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius. To filmkijkers what refreshment to offer, a subsidiary of railway operator Tokyu Corporation a temporary “bath tub cinema” (a “badkuipcinema”, red.) decorated on the roof of a popular shopping center in Tokyo. That report filmmagazine The Hollywood Reporter.

The three-day event will take place from 17 to 19 August on the rooftop terrace of Shibuya 109 in Tokyo. On the program are three Hollywood blockbusters: “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”, “Baby Driver” and “Spider-Man”.

Tickets for the refreshing event costs about 18,000 yen (143 euro) per bath. In the price are food, drink, and an after-party with dj included.

Last month demanded the heatwave in Japan at least 119 deaths. In the city of Kumagaya, the mercury on July 23, even to 41,1 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature ever measured in Japan.
