In June it was announced that CBS, British actor Patrick Stewart was trying to tie a new project around “Star Trek”, and that now appears to be also successful. Stewart had Saturday during a surprise performance during the “Star Trek”convention in Las Vegas is still a surprise for his fans in store. The actor makes a comeback as his iconic character Jean-Luc Picard.
“I will always be proud to continue being part of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation”, but when we take that last film in the spring of 2002 recordings, I really had the feeling that my time with ‘Star Trek’ at the end was,” says Stewart. “It is an unexpected but delightful surprise to new impetus to return to my character Jean-Luc Picard, and new dimensions in him to discover. Go in search of a new life for him, while I thought that was over.”
Stewart played seven seasons in the role of Jean-Luc Picard, captain of the starship Enterprise, in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and in four “Star Trek”movies. The new series is created for the streaming service CBS All Access.
The actor is also known for his role in the “X-Men”saga and example, “Logan” and “The Wolverine”.
According to The Hollywood Reporter has producer Alex Kurtzman a deal of five years for new series on “Star Trek”. He was previously involved in the new series of “Star Trek: Discovery” which last year went.
